For The Love AD- Deaf Aotearoa

For the Love aims to bridge the gap between the hearing and hard of hearing communities and shed a light around communication and inclusion.This short film was created to promote New Zealand Sign language week and encourage viewers to learn basic sign to make the hard of hearing feel more included in our world. For the Love was screened inside parliament on the opening of New Zealand Sign Language week 2023 and recently won the award for Arts & Culture through Deaf Aotearoa. A huge honour. We chose to shoot the film without dialogue so as the viewer we rely heavily on body language as would the deaf community in every day life and the only language used is NZSL with the amazing Rob and Michelle Sinclair playing our mother and father.
